Here is your January edition of the Reynolds-Hanafin-Cooley Branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann newsletter
Some Highlights from our Current Newsletter
Cape Cod Ceili Weekend
The annual Cape Cod Céilí Weekend is coming up at the end of January. There are céilís Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and workshops in set dance, two-hand, and Sean-Nos dancing. Details are in the Newsletter.
North American Provincial Convention
The CCÉ North American Provincial Convention is hosted by the Chicago Branch the first weekend in April. We look forward to entertainment by John Williams from Solas and Katie Grennan of Gaelic Storm, among others. Find details on our calendar and more info in this and future newsletters.
The Music School
Some of you may have noticed the new location for our CCÉ Boston Music School. St. Joseph Prep High School in Brighton has been very generous in allocating space for our music students which allows us to “keep the tradition going.”
There’s no lack of Irish music and dance entertainment in the Boston area! We try to alert you to events we think you will especially enjoy. Mid-February, we have an opportunity to take in a performance by Gaelic Storm at The Cabot Theatre in Beverly. They are an award-winning Irish band whose music appeared in the hit movie, Titanic; they are renowned for their blend of traditional Irish music with Celtic rock.
Check occasionally yourself for events at these locations:
- Green Briar Slow Session in Brighton
- The Burren sessions and Backroom events in Somerville,
