Join the fun at our Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann Reynolds-Hanafin-Cooley Boston Branch Bi-Monthly Seisiun - Set & Ceili Dancing - 1st & 4th Sundays from 3pm – 7pm - at the Canadian-American Hall, 202 Arlington St., Watertown, MA - next session Sunday May 1st

Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann is an international organization founded in Ireland in 1951 to preserve Traditional Irish Music and Culture and to make it available for people everywhere to enjoy its distinctive character. CCE has grown to have over 400 branches worldwide.

The Reynolds, Reynolds-Hanafin-Cooley, Cooley branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann is a nonprofit organization founded in Boston in 1975 for the preservation of Irish traditional music. Two of the great figures in Boston's history of traditional Irish music are the men for whom our branch is named.

Michael Hanafin, of Callinaferey, Milltown, Co. Kerry, was among the finest traditional fiddlers of his time, and the first to be recorded in the early days of the phonograph industry.

Joseph Cooley, of Peterswell, Co. Galway, needs no introduction to Irish music lovers. His accordion music has influenced musicians throughout the world.

Today, Boston's CCE branch has evolved to become one of the largest branches with a membership of musicians, dancers, teachers and patrons dedicated to preserving the traditions of Ireland through its Music, Dance, Language and Culture, and includes members from many ethnic backgrounds who enjoy playing, dancing and listening to Ireland's music for sheer enjoyment.

Go mbainfidh sibh-se taithneamh as fresin.  May you enjoy it, too!

CCE Boston is accomplishing its mission through weekly classes in eight traditional musical instruments and in set/ceili dancing classes. The results of the class efforts are demonstrated and enjoyed at monthly Ceili seisuins. All are welcome at weekly classes and monthly seisiuns which feature Larry Reynolds and the Boston Comhaltas Musicians.

Come and join us in the magic and fun.

The introduction and music playing is from "We're Irish Still" , an LP album featuring Reynolds-Hanafin-Cooley Branch musicians originally recorded in 1981 and updated on CD in 2003. An ensemble plays Cooley's Reel, Billy Hanafin's and Little Bird on the Tree behind the voice of Trachtaire, Labhras O'Murchu.
